APPsolute Sires Sale General Rules

1. All registered Appaloosa stallions and stallions from the Appaloosa Horse Club (“ApHC”) approved breed associations are eligible for the APPsolute Sires Sale. Information regarding inclusion in the sale is available from the ApPHC. Information will be available on the APPsolute Sires website and Facebook page.
2. The APPsolute Sire Sale will be designated for the year following the beginning of the sale. That designation will be the “breeding year” of foals eligible for nomination. The year following the breeding year is designated as the “foaling year”. (EX: Sale begins in the fall of 2021, it is the 2022 Sale, and the resulting foals are born in 2023.)
3. A stallion owner/agent will donate a breeding for the year following the beginning of the sale. A Nomination/Breeding Contract must be completed before a stallion is accepted into the sale. The Nomination/Breeding Contract is incorporated herein, and all terms are binding upon the stallion owners/agents and stallion breeding purchasers. The stallion owner/agent is responsible for filling out the Stallion Nomination/Breeding Contract completely including all additional fees required to be paid by a purchaser.
4. All Appaloosa progeny of sold stallions bred in the breeding year are eligible for nomination into the APPsolute Futurity.
5. Any Stallion Enrolled in APPsolute Sires Sale may be purchased at the sale listed price until May 15 of Sale Year. Owners/agents of sold stallions will receive one free nomination for a foal bred by his/her stallion and born in the foaling year. Purchasers of the sold stallion breeding shall receive one free nomination for a foal born in the foaling year. (Any Stallion that is sold private treaty will receive only one free nomination.)
6. Any stallion not enrolled or enrolled and not sold in the APPsolute Sires Sale may grandfather into the program at any time following the close of the sale for a fee of six hundred dollars ($600). All offspring from that breeding year would then be eligible for nomination. If the grandfather fee is paid by a person other than the stallion owner, a waiver signed by the stallion owner must be submitted to the ApPHC. No free nomination is given to a grandfathered stallion owner/agent.
7. A bid is a binding agreement to pay. The winning purchaser for each breeding must submit payment to ApPHC within ten (10) business days of the purchase or before semen is shipped, whichever is earlier. The fee must be paid within ten business days from date of sale. A 4% fee service fee will be assessed for all credit card transactions. If payment is not received in full within ten (10) business days from purchase date, the purchase is void. If a sale is void for non-payment, the stallion will re-enter the sale as if never sold.
8. Each breeding purchaser is responsible for nominating their foal(s) by filling out the required paperwork/forms & submitting them with the correct fees. Failure to submit required paperwork/forms will result in an ineligible nomination.
9. All the proceeds from the APPsolute Sires Sale will be reserved for the payout purses of the APPsolute Futurity except for one hundred dollars ($100) from each stallion sold will be reserved for the APPsolute Sires Sale and APPsolute Futurity expense                                                                            

1.  All Appaloosa foals bred in the breeding year of an APPsolute Sires Sale and sired by stallions sold in that year’s sale are eligible for nomination for the APPsolute Futurity initiated by that year. (EX: foals sired by sold stallions in the 2022 APPsolute Sires Sale are eligible for the 2024 APPsolute Futurity yearling classes, the 2025 APPsolute Futurity two-year-old classes, etc.) 
2. All eligible foals must be properly nominated to participate in the APPsolute Futurity. The ApPHA must receive the required completed forms and all accompanying fees by the stated deadlines. Failure to meet this requirement results in a void nomination. 
3. Only horses with a completed, paid nomination may enter an APPsolute Futurity Class. Additionally, to enter an APPsolute Futurity Class, an entry fee must be paid. 
4.  Owner and Exhibitor of an entered horse must be current members of the Appaloosa Horse Club (“ApHC”). All horses must be registered with ApHC. 
5. Nomination fees are as follows:

• $200 received by December 15th of the weanling year, OR 
• $400 received by May 15th of the yearling year.
• After May 15th of the yearling year until the first day of the ApHC World Show of the year the horse is entered, a foal may be nominated for $1000 total. 

CLASSES OFFERED

• Yearling Halter - Mares
• Yearling Halter - Stallions & Geldings
• Yearling Western Longe Line
• Yearling Hunter Longe Line
• 2 yr. old Western Pleasure
• 2 yr. old Hunter Under Saddle

ENTRY FEES

Entry Fees and Late Fees will be consistent with the due dates and late fees published by the Appaloosa Horse Club (“ApHC”) for each World Show.

A PER CLASS entry fee must be submitted to the ApPHC entry office by 5 p.m. the day before the class to be accepted. Published Late Fees will apply.

Entry Fee per class: $400.00

No Refunds will be given in any case (death, injury, sale, etc.).

EXHIBITION

APPsolute Sires Futurity will be held each year at the ApHC World Championship Show. APPsolute Sires Futurity will be run according to ApHC Rules. Owner and Exhibitor of entered horse must be current members of ApHC. Back numbers issued by ApHC and all necessary paperwork (registration papers, negative coggins and a health certificate dated within thirty (30) days) must be filed with ApHC. 

DRUG TESTING

All horses are subject to drug testing and must pay a drug fee before receiving a back number. APPsolute Futurity Classes follow the drug rules & allowable levels set by current ApHC Rules. Prize money will be distributed after drug test results are received. If a horse is tested positive, all prize money and awards will be forfeited & the horse will be considered disqualified. The cost of the drug testing will be collected by ApHC. Only one (1) drug testing fee per horse 

PRIZE MONEY

The prize money will come from three sources. All proceeds of the sale of the stallion services less one hundred dollars ($100) per stallion sold in the APPsolute Sires Sale, all foal nomination fees, and fifty percent (50%) of the entry fees will go toward the prize money.

The Prize Money shall be distributed into the Yearling Halter, Yearling Western Longe Line, Yearling Hunter Longe Line, 2 YO Western Pleasure, and the 2 YO Hunter Under Saddle class purses as follows:

• Stallion Service Fees less the $100 per stallion and the foal nomination fees will be divided equally among the three disciplines: Halter, Hunt Seat, and Western. 
• Fifty percent (50%) of the entry fees collected for individual classes are paid back to that class. 
• The prize money will be split based on the entries paid in each class.
